Malyasian Borneo is safe says tourist organisation

TOURISM Malaysia is advising travellers they should have no fears about travelling to the Malaysian half of Borneo.

Over recent weeks there has been ethnic unrest and violent attacks on the Indonesian half of the island. The problems have not spilled into the Malaysian territory containing the tourist regions of Sabah and Sarawak.

The Malaysian Government has stepped up security as a precautionary measure.
