Millington Travel staff were welcomed into the Hays Travel ‘family’ at the miniple’s annual conference in Egypt.
The 14-branch Midlands-based agency was taken over by Hays Travel in November, for an undisclosed sum.
Millington’s annual conference was held in Makadi Water World, Hurghada, from December 7-9, with 55 colleagues from the miniple. Joining them from Hays Travel were retail director Jane Schumm, head of brands Graeme Tolchard and brands divisional sales manager Danny Marish.
The conference was organised through Red Sea Holidays and delegates met supplier partners to hear about product updates and news from the three Hays Travel representatives.
Schumm said: “This conference has been a brilliant chance to learn from each other and enjoy plenty of open and honest conversations.
“I presented our Hays Travel vision [and] values – which are at the heart of our culture – Graeme Tolchard covered our strategy and priorities, while Danny covered incentives and we all held a breakout session on preparing for peaks.
“Overall, we have all gained so much value from being together with our new Millington Travel colleagues.”
Sarah Doody, branch manager at Millington Travel in Kettering, said: “Conference so far has been absolutely amazing, with lots of opportunities to meet suppliers and catch up with the colleagues we don’t see very often.
“This is my first time in Egypt; I’m looking forward to selling it now I have first-hand experience.
“We have felt very welcomed by the Hays Travel team; they are really friendly and we are excited to be part of the Hays family.
“It’s been great to learn all about the latest from the suppliers too, so we can sell them when we are back in our shops.”
Natalie Finnerty, sales consultant from Millington Travel Glenfield, added: “Everyone from the suppliers to the people from Hays Travel have been so friendly and welcoming, it already feels like we have known each other forever.
“The best part has been hearing from Hays and looking forward to what is coming – learning all about the new incentives and schemes and just being part of a bigger family now. I’m feeling positive about getting back to the store and getting ready for January.”
