MONARCH DOUBLES MANCHESTER CAPACITY

MONARCH Scheduled plans to more than double capacity from Manchester for next summer in a bid to compete with the low-cost carriers.

The airline plans to bring in extra aircraft – in addition to the Airbus A321 deliveries already announced this year – and significantly boost frequencies on daily Malaga and Alicante services and on its thrice-weekly Faro flights.

It is also looking to launch new routes, with most of the expansion in Spain.
