MSC Group is set to open its newest beach destination Catalina Sugar Beach in November.
The new destination off the coast of La Romana in the Dominican Republic will be operated by CTL Maritime, part of MSC Group, and Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, for the use of all cruise passengers and hotel clients.
Passengers of both MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys will be offered the opportunity to take up shore excursions such as a catamaran trip, snorkelling, a boat trip to Isla Saona and visits to nearby Cave of Wonders and Altos de Chavón.
The beach experience itself will feature an open-air pavilion buffet serving international and local dishes, two bars including an open-air palapa bar, a water sports centre, cabanas, upgraded changing, shower and restroom facilities and a pathway through the landscape
MSC Opera will call at Catalina Sugar Beach on every weekly departure, with fares starting from £575 for a seven-night sailing from La Romana on February 1.
