National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions took five agents from Designer Travel on an educational trip to the Galápagos Islands earlier this month.
The fam trip was hosted by Danielle Bates, head of UK sales for Lindblad Expeditions, and Karen Holland, expedition sales and concierge specialist for Lindblad Expeditions.
Joining the trip from Designer Travel were Angela Briggs, Roberta Comely, Ally Toner, Heidi Phillips and Jess Tricket.
Following an overnight stay in Quito, Ecuador, the group embarked on the five-night Galápagos Escape expedition cruise aboard National Geographic Islander II, experiencing the landscapes and wildlife that have made the archipelago one of the world’s most famous natural destinations.
During the cruise, the agents encountered the wildlife that inspired Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution; saw sea lions, reef sharks, sea turtles and rays; and walked among giant tortoises in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island.
They also joined photography workshops led by a National Geographic photography expert, learning techniques to capture the islands’ unique wildlife and landscapes.
Bates said: “Experiencing the Galápagos first-hand is the best way for agents to truly understand what makes these expeditions so special.
“Seeing the wildlife up close, learning from our expedition team and National Geographic experts, and experiencing the incredible level of service onboard enables agents to speak with confidence and passion when recommending these life-changing voyages to their clients.”
