NCL ships to spend more time in port in summer 2028

More time in port is being scheduled by Norwegian Cruise Line as part of its summer 2028 sailing programme.

The company’s global deployment includes more than 450 sailings by 20 ships.

Vessels will spend about 80% of each itinerary in port, with an average call exceeding 10 hours, according to NCL.

The season also features 175 overnight stays and late departures in 53 destinations, including Santorini, Livorno and Juneau in Alaska.

The 2028 summer season includes three to 14-night cruises departing from 25 homeports, including Miami, Seattle, Civitavecchia for Rome and Southampton, with calls to almost 150 destinations across 51 countries.

Norwegian Jewel will offer seven-, nine- and 10-day cruises from Southampton, Copenhagen and Helsinki.

Norwegian Getaway (pictured) will also sail from Southampton on northern Europe itineraries to Iceland.  

Norwegian Star will return with British Isles Northern Europe cruises with calls to Belfast, Newhaven for Edinburgh and the Scottish Highlands gateway of Invergordon.

An early booking low deposit offer starting at £100 per person is available as well as Free at Sea upgrades including unlimited premium drinks, specialty dining, excursion credits and wi-fi.
