Norse Atlantic Airways is to offer its first direct route from Manchester to Bangkok this winter.
Flights will operate once a week on Wednesdays at 11.30pm from November 26, 2025, to Thailand’s capital city, arriving 6pm local time. Return fares start from £259.
The airline hailed the launch as a “game-changing alternative” to indirect, lengthier connections, and said it addressed the region’s ‘largest underserved long-haul market’.
It added the route would support inbound tourism to the UK as well as business or leisure travel to Thailand, and proved long-haul travel can be affordable, direct and convenient.
The carrier estimated more than 100,000 passengers travel a year on indirect routes from Manchester to Bangkok while a further 100,000 travel via other airports.
Bjørn Tore Larsen, chief executive, Norse Atlantic Airways, said: “We don’t just follow demand — we unlock it.
This route has been waiting to happen, and we’re proud to be the ones making it a reality. Manchester is a key gateway to the north of England, and Bangkok is a magnet for adventure, business, and culture.
"Connecting the two cities is a natural next step for Norse as we continue to disrupt and expand in the long-haul space.”
Manchester airport managing director Chris Woodroofe said: “Bangkok is one of the most exciting destinations on the planet – and is rightly one of the most popular. Many people from the region travel there every year but until now they have had to book connecting flights.
“This new route will make a huge difference by meaning people can get there directly from the UK’s global gateway in the north.”
