ODELL SAILS DOWN UNDER FOR SILVERSEA

CRUISE industry stalwart Steve Odell is moving to Australia to help boost Asian and Pacific business for Silversea.

The cruiseline’s vice-president sales and marketing for UK, Nordic and Asia-Pacific is moving to Sydney in the winter to set up an office for Silversea. The aim is to increase the region’s business from 6% of the company’s bookings to 10%.

Odell, who has worked for P&O, Norwegian Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruises during his 20 years in the industry, said: “We want to get 10% from the region. We’re increasing capacity next year in Asia as Silver Wind will be back from a refit.”
