On-line Travel Portal appointment

ON-LINE Travel Portal has appointed Simon Tucker as chief financial officer.

Tucker joins chief executive officer Giovanni Bisignani and marketing director Nicolas De Santis at the pan-European travel portal, which is backed by nine shareholder airlines.

Previous roles have seen Tucker help launch Internet travel agency Dreamticket.com last year, which collapsed on February 7 due to a lack of investment, and working at director level with Thomas Cook and Hertz.

The travel portal, which is yet to be officially launched and named, will sell travel and travel-related products on the Internet and is backed by BA, Aer Lingus, Air France, Alitalia, Austrian airlines, Finnair, Iberia, KLM and Lufthansa.
