P&O Cruises hosted more than 100 agents at the star-studded 2025 British Academy Television Awards (Baftas) and invited them to walk the red carpet alongside some of television’s most famous faces.
The cruise line, which was headline sponsor of the event for the third consecutive year, invited guests to a party in the Skylon lounge of London’s Southbank Centre which took place before and after the main ceremony hosted by Alan Cumming, in the neighbouring Royal Festival Hall, on Sunday, May 11.
Of the attendees, more than 100 were agency owners and frontline agents – about 70 of whom were Shine Rewards Club members who had won tickets as prizes in an incentive run by the line in the build-up to the event.
Other agents won tickets to the ceremony and pre and post-awards party through social media competitions and a giveaway at the Clia conference last year.
The ceremony included performances by Tom Grennan and Jessie J, while the pre and post-awards party featured live musicians and DJs accompanied by saxophone players, as well as familiar faces from television including contestants from the latest series of The Traitors.
Among the guests was Paul Hardwick, Fred Olsen head of retail, who said: “What an amazing day at the Baftas with P&O Cruises, so surreal to be mingling with James Corden, Ruth Jones, Rob Brydon, Danny Dyer, Suranne Jones and of course the ’one and only’ Chesney Hawkes, along with many other household names from British TV stardom.
“Thank you to all the team at P&O Cruises for a brilliant day and what phenomenal brand awareness you received from all the coverage, especially when Lee Mack referenced in his acceptance speech that Would I Lie To You? might have only won a Bafta due to Rob Brydon’s voiceover work for P&O Cruises. What great advertising!”
Caroline Stobo, Barrhead Travel product and commercial director described it as "such an honour" to attend the Baftas as a guest of P&O Cruises.
She added: "It was a day of great hospitality, full of famous faces and walking the red carpet has to be one of my highlights."
Jonny Peat, senior commercial manager at The Advantage Travel Partnership, said: "P&O Cruises really knows how to celebrate - I was chuffed to be invited again, and in such esteemed company.
"I saw so many travel agents grinning from ear to ear."
Josh Wallace, a travel advisor with Tui who had won a ticket to the event, similarly described it as a "an amazing honour".
“From walking the red carpet to the drinks lounge and after party, we were treated as stars," Wallace said. "It’s truly an experience I will never forget.”

This was echoed by fellow competition winner Suzy Hampton, owner of Your Travel Wish, who said: “I had a fabulous time. P&O Cruises were great hosts and did an amazing job.
“It was such a unique once-in-a-lifetime experience to see and be in the same auditorium as so many famous people and quite a few of my favourite stars.
“I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity and I felt like a bit of a star myself for the night!”
P&O Cruises sales director Ruth Venn said: “Our partnership with Bafta TV Awards highlights the importance of entertainment in our everyday lives.
"We’re thrilled we can invite so many of our loyal travel agent partners to events such as these, creating memorable moments and recognising the continued support they give us all year round.”
