Political broadcaster Lewis Goodall to speak at Abta's Travel Convention

Political journalist, broadcaster and author Lewis Goodall has been added to the speaker line-up for Abta’s Travel Convention in Madeira.

Goodall is co-presenter of The News Agents podcast and also presents on LBC.

Abta said he would deliver a “sharp, agenda-setting perspective on a world under pressure and the forces likely to shape the next 12 to 24 months” during the event, which takes place from October 12-14.

The association said: “Drawing on his work across The News Agents and LBC, [Goodall] will unpack the political, economic and social currents influencing public mood, business confidence and risk, helping travel leaders better understand the landscape their customers, investors and teams are navigating in an increasingly uncertain world.”

The 2026 Travel Convention will take place in partnership with easyJet holidays and will be hosted by VisitPortugal and Visit Madeira at the five-star Savoy Palace hotel in central Funchal.

The theme for the business sessions at this year’s event will be ‘Managing uncertainty with confidence’.

In addition to easyJet holidays, other supporters include headline partner Intrepid Travel and returning trade media partner Travel Weekly.
