A team from Premier Travel Group has raised £6,645 for the Young Lives vs Cancer charity during a gruelling London Bridges Charity Walk on Saturday (May 23).
The challenge was part of the agency and operator group’s 90 Miles for 90 Years charity initiative, celebrating its milestone anniversary year while raising funds through a series of events and community initiatives.
The team of 26, which included managing directors Niki and Paul Waters, completed a 24-mile route across London in soaring temperatures of more than 30 degrees, crossing 20 bridges and clocking up an average of 55,000 steps along the way.
The walk was supported by industry partners including Aishling McLoughlin from Iberostar, who took part on her birthday; Clare Harvey from Ocean Holidays; Louise Tansey from Ambassador Cruise Line; and Jasmine Evans from Just You and Travelsphere.
Originally setting out with a fundraising goal of £5,000, the team surpassed expectations by raising £6,645 for Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity close to the hearts of many within the business.
Paul Waters said: “This was by far our toughest challenge yet, but also one of the most rewarding.
“The heat and conditions were incredibly challenging, but the camaraderie, encouragement and determination from everyone involved was truly inspiring.
“We are so proud to support Young Lives vs Cancer as part of our 90th anniversary celebrations and incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and supported us.”
