Premier Travel hails ‘positive’ response as Tenterden shop marks official opening

Premier Travel has seen a “positive response” to its newest high street branch, which is a former Baldwins Travel outlet in Tenterden, Kent.

The agency chain celebrated the official opening of the Kent location last week, following a successful soft launch at the end of March.

Customers, supplier partners and members of the community joined the agents to celebrate the opening, which is part of Premier’s continued expansion in the southeast.

Paul Waters, managing director, said the branch has already seen a “positive response” from local residents, with the familiar faces from the previous agency continuing to serve customers under the Premier Travel brand.

He said: “We’ve been really pleased with the response since opening our doors in March, so it was fantastic to officially celebrate our arrival in Tenterden with a grand opening event.

“The support from the local community has been incredibly encouraging, and it’s great to see so many customers returning to the branch and engaging with the team they know and trust.

“Having experienced staff in place who already have strong local relationships has made a real difference, allowing us to hit the ground running while introducing the benefits of being part of Premier Travel.”

He said the addition of Tenterden further strengthens Premier Travel’s presence in the southeast, following recent openings in Maidstone, Uckfield and Tonbridge, alongside its existing franchise locations in Seaford, Bexhill and Reigate and managed service branch Hallmark Travel in East Grinstead.

Waters added: “Our strategy is very much focused on sustainable growth, investing in high street locations where we can offer a genuinely personal service backed by strong supplier partnerships.

“Tenterden is a great example of how that approach can work, and we’re excited to build on this momentum in the months ahead.”

Baldwins Travel had 11 branches, spanning Kent, Sussex and one in Lincolnshire, and went into liquidation in July 2025.
