Qantas considers deal with Air New Zealand

QANTAS Airways has held discussions over a deal that would see it acquiring a stake in Air New Zealand and Air New Zealand selling both Ansett and Ansett International to Singapore Airlines.

Qantas chief executive officer Geoff Dixon said the airline is waiting for further advice from the board of Air New Zealand and its two major shareholders before deciding whether to take the matter further.
