Quark Expeditions has hosted nearly 50 UK agents on board its ship Ultramarine.
The specialist’s UK and European sales team welcomed retail agents, homeworkers, business owners and polar tour operators in Aberdeen who had applied for a ship visit space through their social channels.
The overnight stay in port included ship tours, training, Q&A sessions, expert-led lectures, interactive quizzes and a dinner.
Following the visit, agents have begun planning their own client events, alongside social media campaigns and in-depth training for their own staff to boost sales.
National business development manager Nick Hindle said: “Our goal was simple: to build confidence and excitement among our UK travel partners by showcasing what makes Quark Expeditions truly polar-obsessed.
“From our purpose-built ships and world-class expedition team to our unwavering focus on guest experience and responsible exploration, we wanted our partners to see first-hand the level of expertise that sets us apart.”
Regional sales director Becky Francis added this ship visit fed into the “overall strategy” to educate and “get as many agents on board as possible”.
She highlighted other trade-focused initiatives from the operator such as the Arctic Summer Sweepstakes competition, Polar Pints & Expedition Nights and Polar Brews & Expedition news which are helping it reach agents across the UK “in an engaging, relaxed setting that brings the product to life.”
“This visit is just the beginning,” said Sarah Schlederer, national strategic key account manager. “We’re deeply committed to empowering our partners through ongoing training, support, and unforgettable experiences—because when they thrive, we all do.”
