Riviera Rose completes inaugural sailing on the Douro

Riviera Travel’s newest river cruise ship, Riviera Rose, has completed its first Douro river sailing.

The 114-passenger vessel sailed an eight-day Douro Valley and Salamanca River Cruise itinerary, which includes visits to Porto’s old town, Mateus Palace and Castelo Rodrigo, with port and wine tastings and an excursion to Salamanca along the way.

Prices for the itinerary lead in at £2,199, based on two people sharing.

Riviera Rose has 57 cabins across three decks, with four Diamond Deck Balcony Suites which have outside seating, while standard cabins have French balconies with sliding doors and inside seating areas.

Fares include return flights, transfers, meals, all-inclusive drinks, Wi-Fi, excursions and English-speaking local guides.

Riviera Travel has launched a module about the new ship on its training platform Explorer, and will host two fam trips and a ship visit for the trade later this year.
