Ryanair announces expansion plans

RYANAIR has announced plans to spend $300 million on its operations in Ireland.

The low-cost airline has submitted plans to the Irish Government for 10 new routes between Ireland and Europe and to increase the number of aircraft kept at Dublin and Shannon airports.

Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary said the proposals must be accepted to keep the Irish aviation industry competitive and bring prices down.

The airline has also announced it is to add a fourth daily flight from Shannon to Stansted on January 11.
