Scottish Tourist Board to rebrand

THE Scottish Tourist Board is being rebranded under the name visitscotland and is to appoint a new chief executive as part of its restructuring plan.

The announcement follows a meeting today between the STB and the MSP responsible for tourism, Wendy Alexander.

STB’s current chief executive Tom Buncle is expected to become managing director of the new organisation.

STB chairman Lord Gordon of Strathblane said the organisation has to restructure to allow for changes in the tourist business environment.
