Have you noticed the recent trend for high-profile industry figures to join the dot-com gravy train?

 

Ed Sims of Airtours, who is joining virgin.com/travel, and Thomson's Richard Bowden-Doyle, who is reportedly joining trainline.com, are just two of them.

 

Some of these ventures have more chance of success than others but they can all offer something that's very enticing to potential employees – shares and share options.
