New horizons: Centaur show will be its first in Hong Kong
THE FIRST-ever Business Travel Show in Hong Kong, designed to bring the Asian corporate travel management sector in line with the rest of the world, takes place on March 12-13 next year.
Organised by Centaur, which runs the business travel exhibitions in London, Dublin and Manchester, the event is expected to attract travel suppliers and buyers from across the Asia-Pacific region.
Centaur group event director Paul Robin said: "Research into the business travel market in Asia shows it to be quite an immature market.
"Apart from a few big US multinationals based in Hong Kong, hardly any companies deal direct with suppliers; they leave it all to the agents. This event will give small and medium-sized companies the chance to change that.”
Robin said response to the show has been overwhelming, with 60% of exhibition space sold in two weeks. Up to 1,000 visitors are expected at the show, which is being held at the Hong Kong Exhibition Centre.
