Southon upholds Web sales

AGENTS should not blame the Internet for driving them out of business, according to Unicorn Holidays managing director Jim Southon.

 

 

He said the only kind of products sold successfully on-line at the moment were discounted transport and holidays – the type of products which agents would spend 30mins arranging in their shops forlittle reward.

 

 

Speaking during a debate on the Internet, Southon said: “If the Net is going to do you out of business then you might as well close down now.

 

 

“I think the Net is simply a scapegoat. Why should anything on-line drive you out of business?”
