Spain retains chair of Antor for second term in 75th anniversary year

Spain has been re-elected as chair of Antor (Association of National Tourist Offices and Representatives) for a second term.

New members South Africa and Turkey have joined the board of the association for the first time.

Confirmed board members are the Czech Republic, Gibraltar, Korea, Poland, Spain, Tunisia, South Africa and Turkey. 

Gibraltar remains as global vice-chair, with Turkey taking on the role of second vice chair and Korea continuing as treasurer. Japan and France will join as co-opted board members in September.

Antor chair Manuel Butler, UK director of the Spanish Tourist Office, said: “Antor’s greatest strength has always been its members. We bring together destinations of all sizes, each with their own perspectives, opportunities and challenges, united by a shared commitment to promoting responsible and sustainable tourism.

“As we celebrate our 75th anniversary this year, it is encouraging to see the association continuing to evolve and grow. 

“The new board reflects the diversity and breadth of our membership and will help ensure Antor remains a strong voice and valuable resource for destinations operating in the UK and Ireland. 

“As the travel industry continues to shift in response to changing consumer expectations and global pressures, collaboration between destinations has never been more important.” 

Antor’s members include more than 50 national and regional tourist offices, including 28 destinations that have been members since the association’s earliest years.
