McLeod is joining Travelsavers, a new US-based consortium, as managing director next month. It launches in the UK in September.
The move is likely to see SPARC join Travelsavers.
McLeod admitted he will speak to Scottish agents about a merger but insisted he would not pick off individual members. “SPARC is strong enough to stand on its own but I will speak to the whole group about joining Travelsavers,” he said.
Should agents agree to join, the SPARC name would disappear with members becoming part of Travelsavers International Scotland. Travelsavers president Jack Maraffi said: “SPARC would be a good fit.”
He added that agents would be required to directionally sell preferred operators and would seek to produce sales above their natural market share.
