Stansted opens for skeletal service

STANSTED Airport has now opened for “limited” operations, according to owners BAA.

Some staff have managed to reach the airport and there is a reduced programme operating.

BAA said the Stansted Express train service to London Liverpool Street is operating on a half-hourly service.

Heathrow is still plagued by delays of several hours and more than 150 flights have been cancelled so far today.

Passengers are being advised to contact their airline before traveling.
