Sunlounger Travel Group has launched an independent division called Personal Travel Experts with the aim for it to become “one of the UK’s leading homeworking businesses”.
The agency has brought on Louise Rothwell to head up the division as head of business from Blue Bay Travel PTC where she was business development manager.
Rothwell will be responsible for the growth of the division and supporting members to develop their businesses.
The Personal Travel Experts brand will operate under the Sunlounger Travel brand and aims to provide homeworkers with “a dedicated identity” and “specialist support”, in addition to access to more than 300 supplier partners.
Sunlounger currently has five retail stores and an "expanding network" of self-employed agents.
Sally Kirkbright, director of Sunlounger Travel Group, said she was “incredibly excited” about the initiative and was “confident” Personal Travel Experts will become “one of the UK’s leading homeworking businesses” under Rothwell’s leadership.
Kirkbright said: “We’ve spent the last few years carefully building our homeworking proposition, learning from both our own experience and the feedback of the advisors who have been part of our journey.
“Launching Personal Travel Experts is a natural next step and gives our growing network a dedicated identity that reflects exactly who they are and what we’re building together.
“Louise was the stand-out person to lead this division. Her experience, reputation and genuine passion for helping travel professionals succeed made her the perfect fit.”
Rothwell added: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Sunlounger Travel Group to lead the Personal Travel Experts division.
“Having spent many years working with homeworking travel professionals, I know how important the right support, technology and commercial partnerships are to building a successful business.
“What really stood out to me was that Personal Travel Experts has been built from real experience. This isn’t a concept that’s been created overnight—it’s the next stage in the evolution of a successful homeworking business that’s already been supporting agents for several years.
“I’m excited to help grow the division and welcome many more talented travel professionals into the business.”
