Swindon Travel Hub directors to expand homeworking division

Swindon Travel Hub directors Shaun Jones and Ashley Hunt are aiming to hire up to five more agents for the group’s homeworking division as part of its latest recruitment drive.

The business, which opened its second store in January, currently employs two home-based agents under its Travel Hub brand.

“We’ve seen fantastic results from our first two homeworkers and now that the ‘nuts and bolts’ have been tidied up, it’s the perfect time to welcome more,” said Jones and Hunt.

Jones said many agents left the industry during the pandemic, so there is a pool of talent interested in returning to the sector.

“The likelihood is that they’ll have full-time or part-time jobs, so we’ll work around them with their training needs,” he added.

The new agents, who will be able to set their own hours, will join an existing homeworking team comprising one agent based in Newcastle and one in Spain.

“We’ll scale up the homeworking division throughout the year,” said Jones.

He added: “Store-wise, we probably won’t open another this year – it will probably be 2027 before we do that. However, if the opportunity comes up, we’ll look at it.”

He said the Cirencester store has been performing well since it opened in the beginning of January.
