THOMAS Cook has appointed a streamlined management team to speed up decision-making and get closer to front line staff in travel agencies.
New UK chief executive Manny Fontenla-Novoa has created one executive team, cutting out a layer of management, but has still to announce a managing director of sales and a marketing director.
In the shake-up, finance director Ian Ailles replaces Richard Bowden-Doyle as managing director, specialist businesses, and First Resort managing director Nigel David joins as product managing director in July. Bowden-Doyle is in talks with Thomas Cook AG to take on a group role.
Product director Simon Robinson becomes director of mass market product and sales director Ian Derbyshire is promoted to the role of director of trade relations.
