This company recognised its best people and praised them openly. It offered support and training second to none. It motivated its people by praise and recognition. I was proud to work for this company.
One year later, I work for a company that rules by fear. A company that uses threats to get results. I work for a company that cannot decide which is more important – volume, sales or profit as the message is unclear depending on who you speak to. I don’t receive any positive motivation, or direction and support. One year ago I was wholly responsible for a £6m business, today I am not even responsible for writing window cards. I receive a diagram from my manager.
Today I work in an environment which places more emphasis on a top-up insurance policy than getting a sale in the first place.
I am constantly being told Ihave failed. I am now forced to explain to my head of sales why Ihave failed if I have not sold enough of these policies.
One year ago Iworked for Thomas Cook.
Today Istill do.
