Thomson revamps specialist holiday division

THOMSON has restructured its specialist holidays group amid concerns it was failing to provide the best service for customers.

New managing director Kevin Ivie admitted the move will impact on staff–with job loses a possibility–but said expertise within the group was being wasted under the previous structure.

The group will now be split into four tour operating divisions–specialist sun, long haul, ski, lakes and mountains and short breaks. Its Irish businesses and activity operator Headwater Holidays will stand alone.
