Thomson to fund direct-sell research

THOMSON Holidays has offered to fund an independent probe into whether direct numbers in brochures are taking business from travel agents.

 

The move has been welcomed by the Scottish Passenger Agents' Association, which will consult other consortia.

 

The SPAAhas also discussed with Thomson the possibility of recompensing agents if a client books direct after picking up a brochure from a shop. However, it is thought this is unlikely to happen.
