Almost all flights scheduled from key US east coast hubs were cancelled on Monday as record snow falls continued to hamper travel.
More than 5,500 international and domestic services were affected, according to reports from the FlightAware tracker.
The site shows that 98% of flights out of LaGuardia airport were cancelled and 91% of flights from JFK - New York City’s primary airport hubs that typically see more than 335,000 passengers daily.
Both had seen around 19 inches of snow.
Boston’s Logan International Airport cancelled 92% of outgoing flights on Monday, while Newark Liberty Airport cancelled 92%, and Philadelphia International Airport cut 80%.
More than 2,000 flights into or out of the US are expected to be cancelled today (Tuesday), with Boston and New York the worst affected.
