Abta has launched a short video with five tips for consumers to consider when taking out travel insurance before they go away this summer.
It has been launched on the association’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram channels on Tuesday (July 19) and the association is encouraging members to share the advice with their customers.
Agents can share Abta’s posts to their feeds or download it from the association’s marketing toolkit.
The video urges holidaymakers to take out an insurance policy as soon as they book, so they have cover for costs if they have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances illnesses.
Travel insurers must be told about any pre-existing medical conditions, and consumers should check they are covered for any activities on holiday.
Holidaymakers should have a General Health Insurance Card (GHIC) as well as travel insurance for travel in Europe.
A European Health insurance (EHIC) will still be accepted until its expiry date.
