The Leger Shearings Group is to join Tipto which will see both brands return to the trade marketing organisation for the first time since the Covid pandemic.
Leger Holidays and Shearings were long standing members of Tipto as separate companies pre-Covid.
They join as part of The Leger Shearings Group as Tipto starts its 24th year of operation this month and bring the number of members to 16 operators.
Leger, which celebrates 40 years next year, acquired its former competitor Shearings in May 2020.
Leger operates around 250 itineraries across more than 40 countries. Its fully-escorted touring holidays by coach, air, rail and cruise to Europe and worldwide include upmarket ‘Luxuria Signature Tours’ and ‘See it Live’ tours to stage shows and sports events.
Shearings has UK coach or self-drive holiday breaks across England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, plus offers Warner Leisure adult breaks and a range of European coach holidays.
Ashley Dellow, head of retail sales at Leger Shearings Group, said: “I’m delighted that the Leger Shearings Group is re-joining Tipto.
“Being a former member for 12 years I am fully aware of the huge benefits Tipto can bring to the business – it gives us access to key agents right across the UK that we may normally not have the opportunity to reach out to.
“We know from previous experience that new and increased business has been a direct result of the Tipto roadshows, a crucial factor in our decision to re-join.”
As well as organised events, the group says it will benefit from Tipto’s social media following, additional training days and VIP events to increase its engagement with travel agent partners.
Tipto chairman Nick Hughes said: “Tipto and the existing membership are all extremely pleased to welcome Ashley and the Leger and Shearings brands back into the Tipto family.
“We start our 24th year in a very healthy position with 16 quality tour operator members, and look forward to holding even more events to reach key travel agents and homeworkers all over the UK who have a desire to develop their product knowledge to assist in the growth of their own businesses.”
