Long-haul operator TransIndus has recruited Gareth Mason for the newly created role of trade and group tour product business development manager.
His remit is to support travel agents selling tailor-made luxury small group tours in Asia.
The operator said Mason has a “distinguished” career in travel with “deep, firsthand” knowledge of Asian destinations, including India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Vietnam, Japan and South Korea.
His 35-year career in travel began with a Saturday job in a local independent travel agency.
After college, he went to work for Airtours at the operator’s Helmshore head office, then moved to T2.
He then worked overseas in Spain, before moving back to the UK to work for Cox & Kings, Best At Travel, Wendy Wu Tours and, most recently, at Newmarket Holidays.
In his new role, Mason will offer agents training, host consumer events for agencies and coordinate overseas fam trips.
He said: “I’m truly excited to lead the sale and development of such a dynamic product.
“Together with the TransIndus team, I’m eager to unlock new opportunities, support our trade partners, craft even more compelling group tour experiences and upsell your tailor-made itineraries.”
TransIndus has launched a £100 discount per person on all TransIndus group tour departures up to April 30, 2027, when booked between September 1-December 30, and agents can earn a £50 John Lewis voucher for every group tour booking.
