Travcorp Holdings has changed its name to Specialist Holidays Group to reflect its purpose and long-term ambition.
The move reverts the business to its well-known, former name held under previous owners Travelopia, and prior to that under Tui.
Parent company Travcorp Holdings acquired Specialist Holidays Group for an undisclosed sum from Travelopia last year.
The company said the new name demonstrates that the business has moved beyond its holding company origins to operate as a united portfolio of specialist travel brands.
The portfolio includes Sovereign Luxury Travel, Citalia, American Holidays, Destination2 and Destination2 Cruise.
It added Travcorp was originally set up as a holding company for ownership and structural reasons, and was never intended to be used as a customer-facing brand name.
As a result of the change, the group’s website, corporate identity and LinkedIn presence have been switched to Specialist Holidays Group, while internal systems and the company intranet have also been updated.
The individual brands within the portfolio remain unchanged, said the company, adding customer-facing products, operations and service standards are completely unaffected.
Specialist Holidays Group chief executive Andy Freeth said: “We are not a collection of separate businesses sitting under a holding company.
“We are one group, and we have been operating like one for some time. Specialist Holidays Group is the name that finally reflects that.
“It speaks to who we are, what we do, and where we are going. I am proud to put it on the door.”
On the decision to use the Specialist Holidays Group name, he said: "Over the past year we’ve become a far more connected business, with shared capability, talent and ambition across a portfolio of specialist travel brands.
"This change is about making that explicit. Travcorp was a functional holding company name, but it didn’t reflect what we actually do. Specialist Holidays Group does – it speaks to our expertise, our focus on curated, specialist holidays, and the fact we now operate as one group delivering that capability at scale.
"It’s also well-known and respected by the travel trade, so it works on all fronts. This move is all about aligning our identity with the reality of how we work today and the direction we’re taking the business.”
The group added that its specialist travel brands remained committed to delivering “destination knowledge, expert advice, and outstanding customer service”.
