Not Just Travel reports record sales day on Blue Monday

Not Just Travel reported its biggest sales day on record on January 17 with an average booking value of £5,000.

Sales were three times greater than last year’s Blue Monday , the homeworking group said in a trading update issued to media.

Co-founder Steve Witt said: “Monday was a record day for us in terms of passenger booking numbers, including every year before the pandemic started. Customers are also making faster decisions to buy their holiday now, as summer availability is beginning to get limited.”

Travel consultant Ami Wood (pictured) only finished her training on January 7 – but made more than £50,000 worth of bookings in her first week. Since then, she has made upwards of £75,000 in bookings.

She said: “I’ve been on my laptop from early morning into late evening as it’s so busy. I’ve had fantastic support and training from The Travel Franchise ready for this time and I’m loving my job. I can’t wait to start each day.”

Not Just Travel reported more than 50% of bookings are for summer 2022 departures, with the Canary Islands, Turkey and Greece among the most popular short-haul destinations.

Popular long-haul destinations include Florida, Barbados and the Maldives and Not Just Travel said there had been “many bookings” for cruise, ski and Christmas Lapland trips.
