Travel Village Group chiefs to host first river cruise in 2026

The chief executive and managing director of The Travel Village Group will host their first river cruise in 2026.

Phil and Paula Nuttall will embark on a a seven-night Riviera Travel sailing between August 15 and 22 and have invited their clients to join them.

The voyage will be a round-trip Rhine & Moselle cruise from Cologne on Resplendence, with daily excursions in every port at Cochem, Trier, Bernkastel, Koblenz and Rüdesheim.

Flights and transfers are available from Manchester or Stansted, and the cruise will include a ‘Superior’ all-inclusive drinks package.

Phil Nuttall said: "We have a real passion for river cruising and we have a lot of our guests who take regular ocean cruises or land based holidays who we know have been considering taking a river cruise. 

"Paula thought it would be good if we invited people to join us on a river cruise next year. We think a big part of us being onboard is that people will feel reassured, especially if this is their first river cruise.

"We wanted to showcase the value of what is included in a river cruise because quite often they are perceived as being expensive."

Nuttall said the agency would consider putting on other hosted cruises on other rivers if this one is successful.

"It will be good to share our journey in travel with our guests and to showcase some of the top destinations river cruisers want to visit," he added.

"I am sure we will have fun and make new friends on the journey."

Prices start at £1,999 for an Emerald Lower Deck cabin, £2,499 for a Ruby Middle Deck and Diamond Upper Deck for £2,599, with a deposit of £500.
