Travel Weekly’s Cover Stars competition has returned with a new headline partner and will feature an incredible VIP fam trip to one of Africa’s most legendary safari destinations.
For the past 15 years, the flagship travel agent competition has put frontline readers at the centre of the weekly magazine, with professional photoshoots providing front covers and first-person interviews monthly throughout the year.
For the 2027 edition, the competition will be run in partnership with Newmarket Holidays to offer 12 lucky readers the chance to experience an unforgettable trip to Botswana while posing in front of some truly jaw-dropping backdrops.
The Cover Stars trip will take place from November 7-15, with the winners hosted by the Chobe Safari Lodge and flights to and from Heathrow provided by airline partner Ethiopian Airlines.
Lucy Huxley, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly, said: “Cover Stars has an incredible history of showcasing the travel agents at the heart of everything we do at Travel Weekly.
“When Newmarket Holidays approached us and talked us through its plans to showcase its Premier Collection on our first Cover Stars trip to Africa, we leapt at the chance, and I can’t wait to find the 12 winners who will experience this once-in-a-lifetime trip and feature across our magazine, website and social media channels in 2027.”
David Sharman, chief commercial officer at Newmarket Holidays, said: “We are delighted to be Cover Stars’ headline partner for 2027 and to have this unique opportunity to showcase one of our 18 Africa safaris.
“Our travel agent partners are such strong supporters of our wider safari portfolio, so we chose Chobe National Park as the perfect location to kick off our partnership.”
He added: “With the backdrop of Victoria Falls, sunrise and sunset game drives and cruises and the beautiful Chobe Safari Lodge surrounded by wildlife, the 2027 Cover Star features promise to be the most stunning to date.”
Agents seeking to become a 2027 Cover Star can register at travelweekly.co.uk/coverstars2027.
Entries will close on Wednesday, August 5, after which a panel of judges will select the winners. The competition is open to frontline travel sellers aged 18 or over in the UK, whether they work on the high street, online, in call centres or from home.
