Travel Weekly on TV

TRAVEL Weekly has secured a regular slot on ITV News Channel’s flagship weekend breakfast television show Live with Angela Rippon.

The programme, which airs every Saturday morning, features a review of the week’s travel news with veteran broadcaster Rippon quizzing a member of the Travel Weekly editorial team about the issues of the day. After a successful four-week trial, the programme’s producer has confirmed the arrangement will be permanent.

Issues covered so far include the rising popularity of domestic breaks, the impact of the Madrid bombings on tourism and the chancellor’s decision to freeze air passenger duty in the budget.

Travel Weekly editor Martin Lane said: “ITV was looking for independent, expert opinion on the industry, so Travel Weekly was the obvious choice.”

Tune in to Live with Angela Rippon on the ITV News Channel every Saturday from 8am to 11am.
