Tui Group is to open hotels in Shanghai and Japan as it expands its in-house accommodation options.
Asia remains a “key pillar” of the growth strategy of the Tui Hotels & Resorts division.
The company operates 25 hotels under its own brands, with more than 30 further projects planned in China and Southeast Asia.
“Rising demand from international guests for Tui hotel brands is a major driver of future development in the region.” The group said,
A management agreement has been signed to develop the 103-room Tui Blue Yangtze Shanghai due to open on June 1, 2026.
“Tui Blue will combine modern lifestyle design with a high-quality culinary concept and service offerings for both international and Chinese guests,” the company said.
Tui is also working on the opening of the first Tui Blue hotel in Japan.
The planned mountain resort in Hokkaido will target international travellers and combine winter sports, nature experiences and contemporary lifestyle hospitality.
“Additional growth momentum is coming from Vietnam and the planning of further market entries in new destinations,” Tui added.
Tui Hotels & Resorts is also pursuing the “gradual development” of its portfolio in Africa with a new resort for its club brand Tui Magic Life in Agadir, the first Tui Blue hotel in Gambia and further projects in Zanzibar.
The company has opened bookings for a new 322-room Robinson Boa Vista resort in Cape Verde due to open on March 6, 2027.
Brand co-chief executive Artur Gerber said: “Tui Hotels & Resorts is developing very dynamically worldwide.
“With our brands such as Robinson, Tui Blue and Riu, we are expanding the portfolio step by step.
“Today, 12 hotel brands with more than 460 hotels worldwide belong to Tui Hotels & Resorts, with more than 70 additional hotels already in the pipeline.
“This strengthens our international presence, opens up new markets and creates attractive offerings for diverse target groups.”
