Tunisia beats its record for full-year UK visitor arrivals

Tunisia has reported a “historic milestone” for UK visitor arrivals, with the 2025 figure up by 37% on 2024 and surpassing the previous record set in 2014.

Nearly 450,000 UK visitors arrived in the destination last year, according to the Tunisian National Tourist Office for the UK and Ireland.

The total, which beat the previous high of 425,000 recorded in 2014, represented a 119% increase compared with 2019.

Fakhri Khalsi, deputy director of the Tunisian National Tourist Office for the UK and Ireland, noted that the UK ranks as the second-largest European source market.

He added: “This performance reflects a combination of factors, including the tireless efforts of the administration to promote Tunisia as a one of the best touristic destinations, as well as the collaboration with Tunisian and British professionals. 

“Additionally, it speaks to the growing trust in the destination, which is known for its rich cultural and historical heritage as well as its excellent value for money.”

Overall, the destination welcomed more than 11 million tourists in 2025, marking a 10% increase compared with 2024 and a 20% rise compared with 2019, while European arrivals rose by 7% compared with 2024.

The results, which aligned with the tourist office’s goals, were described as “remarkable”.

Khalsi added that the destination is “optimistic” the 2026 figure for the UK market will exceed that for 2025.
