Union suspends strike plans at Bournemouth airport

Bournemouth airport has confirmed that strikes planned for today, tomorrow and Sunday (September 5-7) have been called off.

The airport said in a statement that the union Unite suspended its proposed action “following an improved offer which they are recommending their members accept”.

The statement added: “The airport will be fully operational on these dates and passengers should check in as normal.”

Last month, the union warned the airport could “come to a standstill” as about 100 Unite members had voted to take industrial action in two separate disputes about pay.

Another strike day planned for September 14 has also been called off.
