Uniworld to launch three further newbuild ships in 2028

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises plans to launch three more newbuild vessels in 2028, following three in 2027.

The new ships will sail the Danube, Rhine and Mekong Rivers, bringing the line’s total fleet to 22.

SS Helen, named after Helen of Troy, will be based on the Danube and will offer “a refined onboard atmosphere”.

The ship will operate a number of itineraries, including the 15-day Danube Grandeur sailing, which will call in six countries between Germany and Serbia, departing October 28, 2028. Prices start from £5,549.

Also joining the fleet is SS Clara, which honours 17th-century Flemish painter Clara Peeters.

The vessel will sail the Rhine and debut on the eight-day Holland & Belgium at Tulip Time itinerary, which departs on March 31, 2028. Prices lead in at £3,349.

The final addition in Mekong Mystique, which will bolster the line’s southeast Asia presence and join existing vessel Mekong Jewel.

Mekong Mystique will exclusively operate Uniworld’s 15-day Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia and the Mekong sailing, showcasing “centuries-old traditions, bustling floating markets, ancient temples and authentic local communities”.

The ship will depart on its first sailing on January 6, 2028, with prices starting from £7,199.

The additions will join the line’s three new-build ships that are expected to debut next year.
