Viking has taken delivery of two new Europe river ships.
Both vessels were built at Meyer’s Neptun Werft shipyard in Rostock-Warnemünde, Germany.
The 190-passenger Viking Annar will sail the Rhine, Main and Danube Rivers on itineraries including Rhine Getaway, Grand European Tour, Passage to Eastern Europe, European Sojourn and Christmas on the Rhine.
The 168-passenger Viking Fjolvar will sail round-trip itineraries from Paris on the Seine River, operating the Paris & the Heart of Normandy route alongside the new ‘Christmastime in Paris & Normandy’ itinerary.
Viking has an orderbook for 22 additional river ships by 2028, nine ocean ships by 2031 and two expedition ships by 2031, taking the fleet to 114 river vessels and 26 ocean and expedition ships.
President and chief executive Leah Talactac said: “We are proud to welcome Viking Annar and Viking Fjolvar to our growing fleet of award-winning river ships.
“Exploring by river offers an unmatched way to discover a destination’s history, culture and local life, and these new vessels allow even more curious travellers to experience Europe in Viking comfort.”
