Virgin Atlantic Holidays is set to open its first London flagship store at Battersea Power Station later this year as part of an ongoing expansion of its retail network.
Located inside the restored Grade II listed landmark, the shop will feature dedicated travel specialists offering tailored advice for long-haul itineraries, including Caribbean escapes, US road trips, multi-centre tours and bespoke travel experiences.
The operator said the opening forms part of its strategy to become the “premium long-haul holiday provider of choice” by establishing a presence in high-footfall retail and leisure destinations.
Dave Geer, chief commercial officer at Virgin Atlantic, said: “We’re incredibly excited to open our first London flagship store at Battersea Power Station. It’s a landmark destination that perfectly reflects the ambition behind Virgin Atlantic Holidays as we continue to evolve our retail experience.
“Whether customers are dreaming of a Caribbean escape, an unforgettable road trip across the USA or an adventure in Phuket, our travel experts are there to help create holidays that are as unique as the people taking them.”
Geer added that sitting down face-to-face with an expert remains a key element for clients booking high-value trips.
“We know that when customers are planning a significant holiday, there’s something special about sitting down with an expert who can inspire you, share their knowledge and help turn an idea into an unforgettable trip,” he said.
The flagship store builds on a summer takeover campaign hosted by the brand at the riverside destination last year.
Guy Smith, senior commercialisation manager at Battersea Power Station Development Company, said Virgin Atlantic Holidays would be a “fantastic addition” to the venue’s retail mix, which has welcomed more than 40 million visitors since opening in October 2022.
The launch will be supported by regional marketing campaigns and local partnerships, with recruitment currently underway for sales personnel.
