A Winged Boots agent has launched a podcast to help spotlight the agency’s focus on delivering a personalised service for clients.
Jack Stean came up with the idea to interview his customers about their top travel experiences earlier this year, hoping that discussing trips he has booked would “highlight that we’re really big on creating a personal relationship with [clients]”.
He said: “We’ll sit down with long-term clients of mine and have a chat about specific trips they’ve done with me, and it gets them talking from a client perspective rather than just me selling [the business].
“Nowadays, you could spend loads of money on Google and posting nice pictures, but really it’s about that relationship you have with your client, how you highlight that and do something a bit different with it.”
Stean said the podcast, named Jack and Friends, was born from thinking of “non-traditional” ways to showcase the “emotional connection” he has with clients and to increase exposure of Winged Boots and his business.
Since launching earlier this year, the podcast has had “a massive effect in terms of exposure”.
Stean said: “From the [first episode] that I filmed in March, [I saw] instant referrals, in terms of people reaching out to me that were within the family and network of the guys I interviewed.”
He also said the episodes, which are shared on YouTube, social channels and the Winged Boots website, have resulted in “more followers and more engagement”.
So far, there are two episodes of Jack and Friends available to watch.
Moving forward, Stean said he would love to interview “nearly every client”, but will focus the podcast on interesting stories he hopes will help drive business.
“I try and do it in terms of specific targets,” he said. “I do work with a lot of sports management companies and footballers, so I would love to get someone in from that industry who I think would open up even more people there. It’s about being a bit smart with it.”
He also hopes to film episodes in a range of luxury hotels across the UK, beginning with episode three, which was shot at The Chelsea Townhouse earlier this month.
He said: “It’s like a three-way thing: I get exposure, the hotel gets exposure and my client gets exposure. It’s a nice kind of synergy where everyone gets something out of it.”
The launch of Jack and Friends comes as part of a successful year for Stean, in which he’s seen “a total upward curve” for bookings since last January.
He also secured his first-ever six-figure booking in June for a trip to Amilla Maldives in December, which he said took “three and a half to four months and a lot of hard work” to get over the line.
