Increased capacity via Singapore offers even more reasons to book New Zealand this winter
From dramatic volcanic landscapes and geothermal wonders to ancient glaciers, pristine fjords and vibrant cities, New Zealand remains one of the world’s most attractive destinations. Now, thanks to expanded services from Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand, getting clients to New Zealand has never been easier.
From late October, the Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand alliance will increase overall seat capacity on the Singapore-New Zealand routes by 17%, adding 72,000 seats and bringing total capacity to more than 490,000 during the northern hemisphere’s winter season.
Singapore Airlines will increase its UK services to Singapore from Gatwick and Manchester, along with increasing seat capacity from Singapore to Auckland by deploying its larger A380 on the route instead of the B777. Air New Zealand is adding further capacity across its Singapore-New Zealand routes with more flights to the cities of Christchurch and Auckland. Together, the airlines’ alliance will provide greater flexibility, more seats and seamless, more-frequent onward connections for clients heading to New Zealand during its peak summer months.
Flying via Singapore
Very rarely is the journey as rewarding as the destination itself – except when flying via Singapore. Named the world’s best airport for 2026 by Skytrax, Singapore Changi Airport is home to a succession of activities to keep clients of all ages entertained. Suggest they take a dip in Terminal 1’s rooftop pool, enjoy a calming respite in Terminal 3’s butterfly garden, which is home to 40 different butterfly species, or marvel at the lush HSBC Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall.
There’s even a 24-hour cinema, a spa, rock climbing wall, bamboo gardens and multiple play areas and slides. Transit passengers with layovers between five and 24 hours can enjoy a Free Singapore Tour – they can pick one of four guided tours focusing on heritage, Marina Bay, city sights or Sentosa.

Customers travelling with Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand can expect exceptional service, state-of-the-art cabin products and a smooth travel experience.
Singapore Airlines is renowned for its hospitality, modern fleet and seamless onboard experience. It’s also no wonder the airline was awarded with the world’s best cabin crew by Skytrax in 2025. All passengers enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi for messaging and browsing (simply become a KrisFlyer member to benefit in Economy or Premium Economy), while entertainment system KrisWorld offers an extensive selection of movies, TV programmes and more. Premium cabin customers can also enjoy the Book the Cook offering, where they’ll select their meals from an extensive menu of all-time favourites up to 24 hours before departure.
Air New Zealand is also recognised for its innovative approach to long-haul travel. Economy customers can choose the airline’s popular Economy Skycouch, transforming a row of seats into a flexible space to stretch out and relax. Clients can also take advantage of seasonal in-flight menus showcasing New Zealand produce, paired with regional wines.
Increased connectivity from the UK
London to Singapore
Singapore Airlines operates four daily flights from Heathrow and 10 weekly services from Gatwick, where frequencies will increase to twice daily from July 3 to August 29, before becoming a year-round twice-daily service from October 25.
Manchester to Singapore
From July 13, Singapore Airlines will increase its Manchester to Singapore service from five weekly flights to daily operations, providing even more options for UK travellers.
Onward connections to New Zealand
Singapore to Christchurch
Air New Zealand will launch three weekly non-stop services between Singapore and Christchurch on Boeing 787s. Combined with Singapore Airlines’ existing services, your customers will now have access to a total of 15 weekly flights between the two cities during the peak travel period, from November 2026 to February 2027.
Singapore to Auckland
Air New Zealand will add four weekly services using Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 aircraft. Singapore Airlines will also use the Airbus A380 on selected Auckland services during the northern winter season, increasing capacity and offering clients the opportunity to experience the airline’s flagship aircraft.
