Q. Why did you join Jet2holidays?

A. When I joined in 2011, Jet2holidays was relatively new to Scotland. Following on from the launch of fl ights and holidays from Glasgow airport, the Jet2holidays travel agent team held events across the UK to showcase the company and its product offering. It was at one of those events that I was inspired by the team to take the next step from being a travel agent and join Jet2holidays at a time when it was really taking off.

Q. How has your career progressed?

A. I joined travel straight from high school at 16 in 2002 and took part in a modern apprenticeship scheme as an independent travel agent. Throughout the nine years I spent at Travel Planet in Glasgow, I progressed from being an apprentice to a sales consultant in 2004, and then to branch manager fi ve years later, before joining Jet2holidays. In September 2011, I joined Jet2holidays as sales executive for Scotland & Northern Ireland, progressing to business development manager in 2014, before being promoted to my current role of national sales manager – trade in April 2022. Now, I work alongside Simon Marshall, national sales manager, and Kat Davies, national sales manager – non-retail. Together, we manage all the travel agent accounts across the UK at a head offi ce and consortia level. We also manage the fi eld sales team who are out on the road looking after our travel agent partners to help drive sales with Jet2holidays!

Q. What do you enjoy most about your role?

A. The diversity of the role and the people. No day in travel is the same. Although a big part of my working week is based at home, every week I am out speaking to our travel agent partners and attending events. It is such a great industry to work in, and I have built so many strong relationships over the years.

Q. What are you most proud of?

A. My career progression is certainly something I’m proud of. Coming out of school, many of my friends went to university and college, whereas I went straight into a job. It did concern me whether, later on in my career, I’d still be considered for more senior roles without a university degree. However, I have always given 110% in all my roles and I think that is what has helped me progress over the years.

Q. What’s new for Jet2holidays for summer 2026?

A. Summer 2026 will be our largest summer programme, with more than 18 million seats on sale from our 13 UK bases. New destinations to highlight are Palermo in Sicily, the Canary island of La Palma, and Samos, Meganisi and the Olympic Riviera in Greece. Back in April this year, Jet2Weddings also launched to the trade, initially offering Cyprus for summer 2026, with Greece added from summer 2027 onwards.

Q. Can you tell us a bit more about the new destinations for 2026, and how they open up more short-haul holiday opportunities for customers and agents?

A. With five new destinations on sale next year with Jet2holidays, independent travel agents can offer their customers even more choice when it comes to enjoying a holiday in Italy, Greece or the Canary Islands. The launch of these new destinations is fantastic news for our agent partners and comes in response to the demand we are seeing. To keep up to date with all our latest news, I’d recommend that travel agents sign up to our trade emails and follow us on Instagram on @Partners2Success.
