Admiral Travel is planning to work with an influencer for the first time in a bid to promote its upcoming sixth store, which will be the third operating under the Craig Travel brand.
Agency director Craig Weatherill, who said the new store would be introduced in Cumbria later this year, revealed the business had been “thinking outside the box” for its marketing campaign.
After being awarded £10,000 in funding from Jet2holidays through the Scale Up Your Street competition, the agency is exploring the prospect of working with an influencer.
“We’ve never worked with one before, but we’re thinking about someone based in the local area who is associated with travel and could promote the shop on Instagram or TikTok,” said Weatherill.
There are currently two Craig Travel shops, based in Workington and Cockermouth, both in Cumbria, as well as three Admiral Travel branches, located in Altrincham, Cheadle and Wilmslow, with the latter opening its doors in January this year.
Weatherill said the business was continuing to aim for a steady expansion, ideally adding one store in each of the coming years.
“We don’t want to grow too big too soon but we’ve been established for 25 years and we’ve seen a massive growth in interest since opening our fifth shop,” he added.
Thanking Jet2holidays for its support, he said: “Without them, we wouldn’t be in the position we’re in now.”
