UK tourism to Israel is on the “road to recovery” following the Gaza conflict of the past two years.
The Israel Ministry of Tourism in the UK revealed that arrivals rose by 31.6% to 104,000 from 79,000 in 2024 as the country continued its recovery.
The UK performance contributed to a broader international tourism revival, which saw a total of 1.318 million in 2025, up 37% from 962,000 in 2024.
But overall visitor numbers remain 71% below the peak pre-pandemic year of 2019, when Israel attracted more than 4.5 million international tourists.
Revenue from inbound tourism in 2025 is estimated at about £1.6 billion.
December saw 10,000 British visitors arriving in Israel compared to 6,500 in December 2024, a 54% increase that signals “positive momentum” heading into 2026.
“The news indicates that travellers recognise that Israel is hugely appealing as a unique, safe and world-class hospitality destination, welcoming tourists from all backgrounds,” the tourism ministry noted.
Israel’s hotel sector is responding with 19 new properties due to open across the country in 2026.
Tourism ministry UK director Michael Ben Baruch said: "Israel’s appeal as a travel destination is undeniable and unbreakable.
"Many travellers in the UK, particularly from the Jewish and Christian communities, have shown their solidarity with Israel and made a visit in 2025, attracted by its unique sites, incredible hospitality as well as friend and family connections.
"These figures demonstrate the enduring appeal of Israel to British travellers and reflect growing confidence in the destination.
"The 54% increase in December visitors shows particularly strong momentum as we enter 2026, and the substantial hotel investment pipeline positions Israel to accommodate continued growth from the UK market."
